Plavis
SAL proudly introduce "Plavis"– a new and specialised Polyamide Automotive Engineering Plastic, designed to compete with industry standard "VESPEL" material. This product is technically designed to be moulded, and can be machined into key parts for the automotive industry where its’ specific qualities of heat and wear resistance and cost effectiveness are of the essence.
This product is supplied exclusively in conjunction with one of our most respected manufacturing partners in Korea, and is already in use within the fields of agricultural and construction machinery with major Korean manufacturers.
"PLAVIS" displays core qualities of high insulation characteristics, high tensile and flexural strength, heat stability (at continuous working temperatures up to 350 deg C and peaks of up to 700 deg C), friction resistance, chemical resistance to oils, solvents and fuels, and machinability similar to that of brass, that are required by the automotive, agricultural and construction industries we serve.
All of these properties make Plavis suitable for applications such as:
- A viable alternative to fine metal blankings and seals within modern transmission units.
- Bushings, washers and thrust plugs in electrical motors.
- Wear sensors, balls etc within braking and anti-lock braking systems.
- Bearing retainers and bushings within turbochargers.
- Other under-bonnet usage where the specialised qualities of Plavis suit it to high temperature engine applications.
